Sr Software Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer to play a pivotal role in the future growth of our client's company. This role will involve back-end system design and coding, with a heavy dose of data engineering and big data– not just ETL/ELT and streaming but also validation, cleaning de-duplicating, matching, testing, and quality. You will be responsible for delivering polished solutions in collaboration with an agile team of mission-driven and talented front-end and back- end engineers.

You will be working on our core data collection systems for enterprise customers, benefiting millions of people. These products will be key in driving our company's future growth, and your role will be crucial in their development. This will require you to break down problems to their essential components and come up with simple, elegant solutions—always planning for scalability and consistently adopting a customer and product-oriented perspective.

The back-end is microservice-based, hosted in AWS, and mainly written in Go. The front end is based on React and written in Typescript. The mobile apps are built using Flutter. The data infrastructure is based on MongoDB, PostgreSQL, S3, Sagemaker, Snowflake, Talend, and mainly written in Python.

• 7+ years of professional experience in senior-level engineering role focused on back-end system design, distributed systems, and data engineering. 
• Very strong back-end and distributed system engineering work experience
• Strong data engineering experience
• Strong experience building scalable microservice and distributed systems
• Strong experience with:
  • Backend: Go, Python
  • Cloud: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Terraform
  • Data: PostgreSQL, S3, Dagster, Redis, Snowflake, MongoDB
• Experience writing, maintaining and monitoring web services on containerized and serverless cloud environments such as AWS Lambda and containers (e.g. Docker)
• Experience with SQL and no-SQL databases, and data warehouses and/or data lakes
• Mastery of core development practices: Agile, TDD, CI/CD, and DevSecOps
• Mastery of standard security and compliance protocols and practices

Above and Beyond

• Experience in the FinTech or PropTech areas.
• Experience with front-end systems and frameworks (Typescript, React)
• Experience in a startup environment.
• Experience in SOC2 or similar certified organizations.

• Work remotely Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week (no weekends)
