Job Overview
Responsible for the comprehensive financial management of manufacturing projects within the automotive industry, ensuring budgetary control, project profitability, and compliance with financial and corporate standards.
This position reports directly to the U.S. headquarters, therefore fluent English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
Work location: Cuautitlán Izcalli, State of Mexico.
Work modality: Hybrid.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and lead financial planning, budgeting, procurement, and investment activities for all or part of the organization.
- Manage project revenue recognition, cost center accounting, billing for manufacturing and engineering projects, and cash collection forecasting in accordance with established milestones.
- Prepare and present monthly management-level financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, operating cash flows, project performance, risks and opportunities, variances, and cost center results.
- Analyze financial information to optimize resource utilization, provide strategic recommendations, and propose solutions to financial and business challenges.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial forecasts, annual budgets, and reports required by regulatory agencies.
- Identify development opportunities, operational efficiencies, and areas for financial improvement.
- Conduct or coordinate audits of company accounts and financial transactions to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Provide guidance and support to other departments on accounting and budgeting policies and procedures, as well as the efficient use and control of financial resources.
- Review, approve, and record disbursement requests in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
- Determine depreciation rates for capitalized assets and advise management on the acquisition, leasing, or disposal of such assets.
- Prepare and submit annual tax returns or coordinate financial information with external accounting firms for tax filing purposes.
- Transactional accounting and financial close processes.
- Financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
- Cost accounting and controlling operations.
- Financial planning, budgeting, and internal reporting.
- Capital expenditure (CapEx) and investment evaluation.
- Cash management, treasury policies, and treasury risk management.
- Financial analysis and forecasting methods.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, requirements, and procedures.
- Experience in project-based businesses and project accounting under the percentage-of-completion method.
- Advanced proficiency in SAP FI/CO/PS.
- Advanced command of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint at an executive level.
- Experience processing and recording financial transactions.
- Solid experience within the automotive industry, managing manufacturing projects.
- Fluent English is required, due to direct reporting to U.S. corporate leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical mindset, strategic focus, and results-oriented approach.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and international stakeholders.
- Gross monthly salary: MXN $45,000 – $55,000.
