Inventory Control Coordinator

This position plays a key role in supporting the Materials, Operations, and Finance Departments through the evaluation and management of inventory, applying supply chain principles, and improving processes. The Inventory Control Coordinator should be able to identify and perform root cause analysis, articulate findings, create, and implement solutions that increase inventory reliability and proper material handling in various areas.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
- Provide the necessary equipment and tools to carry out material counts.
- Maintain and execute a cycle count program and distribution to ensure compliance.
- Keep cycle count results updated.
- Perform root cause analysis for inventories with reliability below 95%.
- Keep database parameters up to date to direct actions for each part number (supplier, valid purchase orders, lead time, transit time, max, min, etc.).
- Maintain inventory control based on defined objectives.
- Coordinate with a multidisciplinary team for root cause analysis and ensure the implementation of actions.
- Meet individual and team performance indicators set by the plant.
- Use checklists for the completed counts, including review of:
- Receipts, reconciliation with suppliers, consumption, subassemblies or WIP, FG, shipments, scrap, waste, returns to suppliers.
- Conduct random audits on raw material receipts.
- Audit scrap reported by quality/production.
- Report discrepancies to the Materials Planner and Superintendent in a timely manner.
- Comply with established safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Set continuous improvement goals to facilitate and optimize the cycle counting process.
- Train cycle counting staff.
- Follow up on negative balances in different plants and warehouses.
- Meet assigned individual and team performance indicators on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Work closely with the Operations and Shipping Coordinator to support the plant's daily objectives.
- Drive the implementation of visual management systems related to inventory management.
- Analyze and follow up on inventory audit results.
- Provide timely reports and analysis.
- Study and standardize procedures to improve inventory accuracy and service levels.
- Appropriately escalate risk situations with the necessary information for decision-making.
- Coordinate annual physical inventory activities and ensure timely supplies.
- Provide information on causes and actions for discrepancies found during the annual physical inventory (collaborate with the Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, Production, and Finance departments).
- Actively participate in internal, external IATF audits and LPA activities.
- Actively participate in in-person activities such as training, town halls, recurring meetings, and physical inventories.
- Adhere to environmental and climate change policies.
- Identify, control, and minimize significant environmental aspects related to the work area.
- Implement good environmental practices.
- Promote environmental culture.
Education/Experience/Skills
- Industrial Engineer, Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field.
- Proficiency with computers, MS Office, and MRP.
- Extensive knowledge of cycle counting methods and annual physical inventories.
- Inventory management and control.
- Practices for receipts, shipments, consumption, and subassemblies.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Spoken and written English (80% desired).
- 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Language Skills
- Strong communication skills.
- English (80%).
Mathematical Skills
- Numeric comprehension.
- Analytical skills.
Reasoning Skills
- Problem-solving ability.
- Ability to interpret a variety of written, spoken, oral, diagrammatic, and programming instructions.
Computer Skills
- Competent in MS Office software (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel) and Lotus Notes.
