WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Lead Merchant, self-driven individual with passion for consumer and Market insights and building strong partnerships. This role will leverage your ability to collaborate with x-functional partners (Sports Merchandising teams in territory and at the Geo level, as well as Territory cross-functional teams such as Marketing, Planning and sales and Sports Marketplace Director). strong communication, influencing skills and merchandising acumen will be required.
- Bachelor's degree or higher, or combination of relevant education, experience, and training
- 4+ years of experience in Footwear, Apparel, Equipment, or relevant consumer product merchandising, product creation and/or retail in a vertical, multi-brand or digital environment
- Strong command of common retail and/or digital metrics such as sell-through, margin, full price realization, weeks of supply, etc.
Strong product line management understanding and expertise as to build, lead and drive a long-term product strategy.
Proven ability to cultivate innovation and build the future by becoming consumer and product expert combining consumer and market trends with sales and business data.
- Strategic thinking to build and lead mid- and long-term strategies leading and driving a consistent, profitable business with plans that allow us to extend product lifecycle while building new opportunities.
- Solid communication and presentation skills both in Spanish and English.
- Preparing seasonal tools to equip your marketplace partners with an understanding of seasonal priorities.
- Experience developing strong working relationships with teammates and cross-functional partners.
- Great teammate and contributor, with an attitude and excitement to learn new things.
Strong communication skills and comfort navigating a cross-functional matrix with an emphasis on influencing skills.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON
The candidate will play a crucial role in understanding the SPORTS (Nike Basketball, Kobe, Tennis, Golf) consumer as well as the EQ/Accessories business opportunities, generating insights into informing our Global and GEO partners about product opportunities and needs as well as building the best SPORTS & EQ product line for the territory to serve our consumer while achieving our business goals. This role will be leading the entire business but directly working and building the FTW product line while the direct report will take care of APP and EQ/Accessories.
- You will need to become consumer and product expert by combining the art and science of merchandising, starting by understanding their interests and needs, key moments, what they like and what they don't like and complementing with business acumen allowing yourself to know the historical data and current business performance to strengthen your criteria and take consumer right decisions.
- You will gather consumer trends and marketplace insights from in-market seasons
- You will need to have an E2E Mindset not just as the enabler of the strategy but a lead that will obsess to guarantee as flawless execution of the plan. Our goal as merchandising is to ensure we serve the consumers with the right product, in the right place at the right time.
- You will connect directly with your GEO counterpart to align territory priorities, needs, opportunities and ensure GEO team provides the support to fulfill territory plan and land on a final SPORTS & EQ product strategy.
- You will build our territory consumer right product offering for the integrated marketplace portfolio serving the needs of our consumer through Nike Digital, Nike stores and Partners doors.
- You will partner with a cross functional team (Retail Marketing & Sales) to build a holistic strategy that combines product and brand efforts creating the right amount of awareness around our SPORTS & EQ offense.
- You will lead internal seasonal downloads to communicate and align seasonal strategies and priorities to your internal cross functional partners as the kick off for the seasonal sell in process.
- You will lead seasonal product presentation to our Retailers during our partner engagement moment (SPA) to guarantee the understanding of the strategic priorities within your seasonal plan as well as to capture business opportunities directly from them.
- Delivers a seamless, premium, and effective consumer journey across marketplace
