Responsibilities

The Opportunity

As an
R&D Product Development Senior Scientist
, you will act as a technical leader for value engineering and productivity initiatives across the LATAM beverages portfolio. You will lead bench-top development of ingredients, formulations, and processes, supporting the creation and execution of the value engineering three-year pipeline. Additionally, you will play a key role in Technical Brand Stewardship by driving formula development from laboratory to commercialization, coordinating closely with cross-functional R&D partners such as Quality, Regulatory, Sensory, and Commercialization Engineering, as well as collaborating with regional business teams including Innovation, Operations, and Marketing.

Your Impact

As an
R&D Product Development Senior Scientist
, your responsibilities will be:

• Lead the design, planning, and execution of formula development projects from bench-top to commercialization, providing technical leadership and project management across cross-functional and global partners.
• Develop, document, and maintain bench-top value engineering projects, including prototypes, formulations, specifications, and validation activities, in compliance with PepsiCo R&D protocols to ensure safe, stable, compliant, and consumer-centric solutions.
• Manage and track product development timelines, ensuring alignment and on-time delivery with extended and cross-functional teams.
• Coordinate and execute pilot plant trials, including troubleshooting and technical issue resolution during scale-up.

Qualifications

Who Are We Looking For?

• Bachelor's degree
  or higher in Food Science, Food Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
• 3–5 years of experience in R&D
  within the food or beverage industry, with hands-on involvement in product or formula development.
• Proven ability to deliver results while managing multiple priorities and navigating ambiguity.
• Demonstrated capability to lead technical initiatives and collaborate effectively across cross-functional and regional teams.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Fluent in English and Spanish
  , with the ability to work in a virtual, multicultural environment and manage projects using project management tools.
