Job Description:

A leading international firm specialized in inspection, testing, certification, and technical consulting is seeking an Environmental Consultant to support regulatory compliance activities at an industrial facility in Lithonia, Georgia.

The selected professional will perform environmental evaluations, oversee documentation and permitting requirements, and prepare ISO 14001–aligned compliance reports. This role requires strong technical judgment, fieldwork capability, and a solid understanding of state and federal environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Phase I – Site Environmental Compliance Evaluation
• Conduct on-site environmental assessments and facility walkthroughs.
• Review permits, regulatory documentation, monitoring logs, and historical compliance records.
• Evaluate compliance with federal regulations (EPA) and Georgia environmental standards (GA-EPD).
• Prepare and update Tier II, DMR, and required environmental submissions.
• Phase II – Permitting & Environmental Plans
• Verify air permit compliance and coordinate with GA-EPD authorities.
• Review and update Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP).
• Review, revise, and recertify Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plans (SPCC).
• Support documentation for wastewater, stormwater, and air permitting processes.
• Phase III – ISO 14001 Environmental Reporting
• Develop environmental compliance reports aligned with ISO 14001 requirements.
• Conduct gap assessments, identify regulatory risks, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare technical documentation, including photo logs, evaluation forms, and corrective action plans.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or related fields.
• 3–7 years of experience in environmental compliance or environmental consulting.
• Strong knowledge of federal environmental legislation and Georgia-specific regulations (GA-EPD).
• Experience working with SWPPP, SPCC, air permitting, Tier II reporting, and DMR submissions.
• Ability to perform field inspections and site evaluations.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and technical reporting skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with ISO 14001 implementation or auditing.
• Previous consulting experience with industrial or manufacturing facilities.
• Professional certifications such as QEP, CHMM, CES, ISO Lead Auditor, or similar.
