In-Person English Teacher

Important: on site location at Av. Internacional 305, Interpuerto Monterrey, 65513 N.L., Mexico (NOT ONLINE) for an independent contractor ONLY.

THIS JOB IS FOR ENGLISH - MINIMUM C1 LEVEL ENGLISH TEACHERS ONLY.

Schedule

• 2 hours per week
• 1 day of class per week
• Class time: 3:00–5:00 PM
• Classes can be on just ONE of the following days for two hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday

Contract length - 12 weeks total

Available to renew if successfully executed. Teacher does not have to take both days. We will ask you later if you prefer both days or only one day.

WHO ARE WE?

Fluency Corp is a privately-owned group of talented instructors that want to take Spanish-language teaching/executive language coaching (building fluency, polishing, improving communication) to a new level for the executives that we work with.

We not only teach our students English through relevant, interesting conversation (as we all learned our first language), but we motivate them to keep learning by communicating with others in the community, and trying new ways to learn that truly boost fluency like TV and trying basic conversations with coworkers. We also give highly customized lessons based on client's job and interests.

For this client Fluency Corp (the management teach, not you) will

• meet with the client to understand what content we should teach for maximum learning over the 12 weeks (focusing on job-specific vocabulary so they can have very basic communication with their Spanish-only speaking peers)
• put together a lesson plan and 80% of everything needed for the teacher to successfully teach an interactive, speaking-focused class based on the phrases, vocabulary and questions/answers they need to be most confident in for basic communication at work
• support you, the teacher, throughout the process
• assess students and put them in beginner level groups (A0 - A2 together in a group)

You (the coach) will

• ensure they are speaking in class as much as possible (role play) and follow the lesson plans to get them confident in basic English work phrases for basic communication on safety, quality control, and general needs at work
• not focus on grammar lessons but more practical lessons and real work usage
• ensure employees gain confidence and higher fluency for the specific conversations they need to have at work
• bring a lot of energy and fun to classes

We are serious about our jobs and care deeply about our students.

You must :

• have 5+ years teaching ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE - SPECIFICALLY to adults in a one on one or small group setting (average employees in a class)
• have experience keeping the class lively after a hard day's work or before a shift
• be able to fill out a goals form and quarterly progress reports
• fill out attendance form on your phone at the beginning of class (we provide form)
• be always on time (preferably early)
