Posición: Data Scientist

Ubicación: México

Esquema: Híbrido en oficinas de CDMX Azcapotzalco o Monterrey, NL - 3 días en oficina y 2 Home Office. Si vives fuera de estas ciudades es remoto.

Purpose of the position

The candidate will be involved in the development of data science and advanced analytics applications from proposal through commercialization and be expected to work closely with operations and business organizations. As a result, he/she will need to develop credible business cases for new applications, actively participate in technical development, and lead multi-disciplinary project execution teams.

Principal responsibilities

• Involved in technology development process, from understanding business requirements, data discovery and extraction, to model development, prototyping, evaluation, and deployment
• Actively participate in the technical development
• Lead project execution involving multi-disciplinary teams
• Stay abreast of new technology developments in the field of expertise and actively contribute ideas for new programs
• Effectively communicate analysis, findings, and results to stakeholders
• Support new programs while maintaining and improving existing solutions

The Data Scientist will be a member of the Digital Americas organization. Digital Americas is a multi-disciplinary technical team comprised of data scientists, software engineers and operations research experts. The team serves Linde business units and is tasked with creating analytics and decision support systems that deliver solutions for challenging problems across operations, supply chain and business process.

The candidate will be involved in the development of analytics applications from proposal through commercialization and be expected to work closely with Operations and Business Organizations. As a result, he/she will need to develop credible business cases for new applications, actively participate in technical development, and lead multi-disciplinary project execution teams.

Required key skills

MANDATORIAS

• Involved in technology development process, from understanding business requirements, data discovery and extraction, to model development, prototyping, evaluation, and deployment

• Stay abreast of new technology developments in the field of expertise and actively contribute ideas for new programs
• Effectively communicate to stakeholders analysis, findings and results
• Support new programs while maintaining and improving existing solutions
• BS in Operations Research, Computer Science or equivalent degree specializing in Data Science, Statistics, or a related discipline or practical experience
• 2+ years of experience in building and delivering analytics solutions (e.g., simulation, optimization, ML, statistical models) to real production systems and deep understanding of data science lifecycle process
• Solid knowledge of Python and SQL to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to succinctly convey complex solutions to business stakeholders and executive leadership
• Conversant in English
• Ability to travel up to 25% (domestic and international)

Preferencial

• Master or PhD degree in Operations Research, Computer Science or equivalent degree specializing in Data Science, Statistics, or arelated discipline or practical experience
• Experience with C#, Java, or C++
• Experience with modeling platforms
• Experience with Tableau or other BI Tools
• Experience with Azure/AWS or other cloud computing platforms
