Position Overview
We're looking for an experienced Junior WordPress Developer to join our Legal Marketing agency. The Junior WordPress Developer is responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of WordPress websites. This role requires a foundational understanding of WordPress structure and environment, basic PHP and JavaScript knowledge, and hands-on experience with HTML, CSS/SASS. The developer will assist in building and updating websites while learning best practices in performance, accessibility, and SEO.

Position Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and customizing WordPress themes and plugins
• Convert simple wireframes or mockups into functional, responsive web pages
• Implement styles using CSS/SASS with attention to consistency and design accuracy
• Support debugging, troubleshooting, and bug fixes in existing websites
• Ensure websites follow best practices for mobile responsiveness and accessibility
• Collaborate with senior developers on integrating basic PHP and JavaScript functionality
• Perform website updates, content changes, and plugin maintenance
• Learn and support deployment processes in environments such as WP Engine
• Work with the design team, SEO team and senior developers to translate requirements into deliverables
• Communicate progress and challenges clearly with the team
• Provide support to SEO and project management teams for minor updates
• Stay proactive in learning new tools, workflows, and WordPress features
• Participate in code reviews and apply feedback to improve technical skills

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:

• English speaking and writing fluency required
• Familiarity with WordPress environment and structure
• Strong understanding of HTML5 and CSS3, with experience in SASS
• Basic knowledge of PHP and JavaScript
• Ability to follow technical instructions and coding standards
• 1+ year of relevant experience (internship, freelance, or agency work)
• Experience working in managed hosting platforms (e.g., WP Engine, Kinsta, Flywheel)
• Familiarity with Git/version control
• Understanding of website performance basics
• Exposure to SEO concepts in web development
• Good communication skills with technical and non-technical teammates
• Proactive, collaborative, and open to feedback
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.

Compensation

• $16,000 - $20,000 Net MXN / Monthly
