Position Overview

We are seeking a Backend Web Developer who will play a key role in building and enhancing the systems that power critical operational functions within the healthcare environment. This position focuses heavily on data integrations, SQL Server development, SSIS workflows, and API/Web Services architecture. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys hands-on backend engineering, solving data challenges, and ensuring smooth communication between internal and external platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineer, enhance, and support backend components and APIs utilizing C#, .NET, SQL Server, and Web Services/Web API technologies.
  • Design and maintain ETL pipelines through SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), ensuring accurate, high-performance data transfers across multiple systems.
  • Automate processes and create backend solutions that enable operational initiatives—such as social determinants program support and returned payment card processing—by integrating diverse data sources.
  • Develop SQL queries, stored procedures, utilities, and scripts to assist with data validation, processing, and reporting needs.
  • Collaborate closely with teams including IT Operations, Data & Analytics, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and convert them into scalable, maintainable backend solutions.
  • Diagnose and resolve system issues, performing database tuning, improving API stability, and ensuring overall performance of backend services.
  • Adhere to healthcare-related security standards, integration guidelines, and compliance requirements.
  • Produce and maintain updated technical documentation, including integration specifications, architectural diagrams, and development standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in backend development using C#, .NET, SQL Server, and API/Web Services technologies.
  • Practical experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines, particularly with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and strong grounding in relational database design.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and a methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to operate within a collaborative, distributed team while managing multiple parallel tasks or projects.
  • Solid communication skills and ability to document work clearly.

Preferred Skills

  • Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish), especially valuable when working with multi-functional teams.
  • Exposure to Azure services, such as App Services, Azure Functions, API Management, or DevOps pipelines.
  • Previous experience in the healthcare or insurance industry.
  • Active Batch certification is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40, $45,000.00 per month
