Purpose of the position

This role is part of the Product Design Group within the Product Development Department. The responsibility of this role lays in leading technical product design activities on assigned projects while directly engaging with customers. This may include reviewing product design requirements, including technical specification documentation relating to functional and dimensional requirements, conducting Design for Manufacture reviews, modifying product design as required, reviewing, and specifying design validation requirements.
- Basic content of work and responsibility:

- Lead and manage activities related to assigned projects
- Provide customer service and support throughout the whole project duration
- Provide input into the design process
- Review 3D and 2D CAD data during RFQ and Design Phases and create feedback Presentations to communicate changes required
- Working with Design and Tooling Suppliers to ensure Mergon and Customer expectations and objectives are met
- Work closely with the Tooling Engineering group to ensure all Tooling considerations are taken into account during the design Phase
- Develop DFMEA, DVP and Design Review Documentation in accordance with Mergon Design procedures and IATF 16949 requirements
- Support Product Design Manager in their role as required
- Go on business trips according to the requirements of customers and suppliers
- Ensure all tasks resulting from the applicable quality system standards in its area of competence
- These obligations and responsibilities are not exhaustive. Others may be determined or allocated if their nature is necessary for the performance of the position and appropriate depending on the situation currently in question

- Co-decision on the selection of suppliers of design and simulation services
- Communicate with customers and suppliers within the framework of divided powers
- Communicate with the designated team within Mergon Group

4. Basic Requirements:

- Engineer degree
- Qualifications and certificates: 3D CAD software (Catia is a plus), GD&T, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC
- Required knowledge and skills: Plastic processing (Injection molding, blow molding), Thermoforming, Compression molding; problem solving
