| Claims Associate
- THE POSITION
- Claims Associate is a critical position responsible for assisting and interacting with insureds, claimants, adjusters, agents, underwriters, examiners, contractors, restoration and other vendors and experts in a team environment.

WHAT YOU DO- Providing excellent customer service- Confirming policy coverage- Obtaining critical claims information and setting up a claim in claims system (PTS)- Answering incoming phone calls- Submitting claim and inspection request to adjusters and vendors- Investigates prior claims and related information for adjusters- Investigates weather and storm information using the internet- Supports mail distribution, filing and scanning- Managing diary entries- Maintaining positive internal and external work relationships- Assisting insureds, agents, and claimants with information on a claim, questions or concerns when appropriate- Inputting expense and claims checks as needed- Supporting the Claims Department

WHAT YOU BRING:
- High School Diploma or GED required- Minimum of one year of related claims or customer service experience preferred- Exceptional customer service skills- Ability to work independently with little employee supervision- Gathers and analyzes information skillfully- Follows policies and procedures- Sets up claims and submits to adjusters in a timely manner- Manages difficult or emotional customer situations- Shows empathy- Maintains confidentiality- Writes clearly and informatively- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness- Works with integrity and ethically- Prioritizes and plans work activities- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)- Workspace: A quiet space to work, an internet connection of at least 30 Mbps download | 10 Mbps upload.- Equipment: a laptop (or a desktop computer) and an internet connection that- meet our minimum requirements
