The Contract Enablement Team Lead is a member of the Contract Guidance & Enablement team within the GBS (Global Business Services) - Compliance, Legal and Contracting Operations (CLCO) group and is responsible for driving AstraZeneca’s portfolio of drug products by providing business support for external services and collaborations. The role is responsible for handling technical and administrative aspects relating to the processing of the corresponding payments, either directly or via a team of Contract Enablement Specialists that they will oversee. They will oversee day-to-day transactions and ensure accurate and compliant processing of payments in accordance with policies, procedures, regulations, and transparency/disclosure reporting requirements.

Success in the role will be dependent on developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with counterparts within the Contract Guidance & Enablement team as well as Genpact, GFS (Global Finance Services), GDO (Global Data Operations), other Regional Transactional Teams, External Experts, internal customers, and business partners.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Payment Operations_
- Define, own, and support efficient payment services processes (e.g., Payment, Invoicing, Expense Reimbursement, Tax codes)
- Work as a primary point of contact for payment related inquiries and critical issues and address in a timely manner
- Ensure payments team is following standards, SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) and collecting required evidence and approvals in the most compliant and efficient manner
- Run performance data and metrics to ensure process and performance issues are identified and route cause analysis is conducted
- Lead timely delivery and resolution of ad hoc queries from customers, and other partners
- Technology_
- Monitor initiation of payments and their subsequent processing in SAP; ensuring high level of customer service throughout
- Ensure system and data issues are flagged and dealt with according to service level agreements
- Maintain tracker/dashboards/systems to be able to generate useful reports to customers (activity owners, business leaders, etc.)
- Maintain and ensure data integrity and accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of updates. Assimilate and adopt new systems, tools, and processes where these are required for delivering the role.
- Project Management_
- Lead transition to new tools and technology for payment services
- Handle deployment of payment services to new markets
- Develop payment services as a new service line for current and future customers
- People Management_
- Provide leadership to a global team and foster a positive team culture
- Evaluate team performance including delivery against SLA’s and KPI’s
- Run resource capacity and planning to ensure appropriate staffing of function
- Handles the performance assessment and career development of all direct reports and their staff
- Lead indirect reports and relations with GFS, GDO, Genpact and internal teams
- Handle project related reports from vendor teams

**Minimum Requirements**
- Experience in a Purchase-to-Pay / Accounts Payable role
- Experience leading and handling a distributed team
- Deployment and project management experience
- Able to manage multiple priorities, work to deadlines and turnaround times, work well under pressure and adapt to ever-changing scenarios
- Strong attention to detail, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Capable of working independently but also take instruction and direction from others
- High ethical standards, trustworthy, operating with absolute discretion

**Preferred Background**
- Oncology experience and an understanding of the bio-pharmaceutical market
- Strong Project Management/Organization Skills
- Previous contract development or related experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech or related industry is preferred
