Role Definition
Implements nursing activities for occupational health services and ensures compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provides on-site nursing care for employee safety in the workplace; investigates accidents and inspects any health or safety hazards.
- Ensures the implementation of occupational health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations.
- Provides health and safety awareness information to promote overall employee health in the workplace.
- Assists in initiating and coordinating patient care plans for a client company.
- Accredited Registered Nurse (RN) degree, current state Registered Nurse (RN) license, and current CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation)/First Aid certification

Medical Devices and Tools: Knowledge of medical devices and tools; ability to use medical devices and tools in order to evaluate and treat patients.
Level Working Knowledge:
- Uses devices and tools to run basic diagnostic tests and measure vital signs.
- Works with most major medical device and tools in treatment of ER patients.
- Assists medical staff using less common devices and tools to treat serious illnesses and injuries.
- Follows safety measures to ensure proper use of devices and tools.
- Monitors condition of the devices and tools, documents findings, and reports to appropriate staff.
Nursing Assessment and Care - HNU: Knowledge of the policies and activities regarding nursing assessment and care; ability to assess patients' nursing care needs, develop and implement a nursing care plan, monitor progress and make adjustments as necessary.
Level Working Knowledge:
- Describes the tools and procedures used for initial assessment and progress assessment.
- Shares experiences with developing and implementing nursing care plans within a nursing specialty.
- Builds rapport with the patient and explains the condition and course of action effectively.
- Discusses common care approaches and typical responses and adjustments to the care plan.
- Monitors pain levels; communicates with patients and family on pain management alternatives.
