**What you will bring to the team**

Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager I (“Software Test Manager”) to join a high performing team focused on developing the mission critical TCx Sky Operating System for the Retail industry. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing a software test team throughout all phases of the product development life cycle from requirements prioritization to product release to withdrawal from support.

This position is in Guadalajara, Mexico. The Software Test Manager position requires working with peer software, support, and hardware managers and their teams to deliver high quality products to our customers.

**Your typical day as a Toshiba Manager, Engineering I  will involve**:

- Delivery of the industry leading TCx Sky retail operating system
- Manage all personnel aspects of the team including hiring, managing individual performance, compensation, job assignments, dealing with conflicts, career building, and coaching
- Interact with stakeholders such as team leads, technical project managers and product managers as appropriate to address areas such as product functionality, performance, delivery plans, and field support escalations
- Identify and resolve problems, gaps, and challenges in the software test processes
- Foster an environment of collaboration, trust, continuous improvement, and accountability
- Perform other related duties as assigned

**Naturally To be successful in this role, you must have and know of**
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or related field 4+ years of leadership experience in a test engineering or new product development environment
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability in leading projects - managing requirements, schedule, quality deliverables, and budget
- Self-starter with demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic high-tech environment with team members dispersed across multiple countries and time zones
- An effective problem solver, with ability to utilize analytical techniques to resolve complex issues
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to organize and present clear and concise information up and down the organizational chain
- Experience and ability to work in a cross-functional, collaborative environment
- Excellent risk and change management skills
- Experienced with different project management methodologies, tools, and defect tracking systems

Adept with Microsoft Office tools

**Preferred skills**:

- Knowledge of retail systems products
- Operating system development/test experience
- Aptitude for recommending and implementing changes to practices/procedures that affect the immediate organization
