Main Purpose
Responsible for defining and implementing Sigma's scientific research strategy in Health & Nutrition, aimed at achieving short-, mid-, and long-term goals, with a clear vision of making Health through Food a reality.
Main Responsibilities
Act as expert within Sigma on Gut microbiome and Omics sciences to keep up to date advances in this area to feed the business strategies.
Leading role in the definition, development and execution of the N&H scientific research strategy and pipeline to drive Future Growth.
Lead clinical research projects & data analysis, including clinical protocols/studies, with focus on N&H for strategic business opportunities based on consumer benefits.
Leading scientific partnerships (e.g. universities, research centers and startups) and working effectively with complex ecosystems.
Develop comprehensive knowledge and documentation around the selected scientific strategic topics to provide guidance internally and with external audiences.
Present science-based value propositions to multiple stakeholders and technical and non-technical audiences.
Represent Sigma in internal and external scientific forums and influence scientific research agenda in favor of Sigma.
**Requirements**:
PhD in Nutrition or related.
5+ years of proven experience leading research projects in Nutrition & Health, with expertise in gut microbiome and omics sciences.
Preferred experience in R&D roles within the food industry, with a strong focus on health and nutrition.
Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation of complex scientific data.
Strong communication skills - able to translate technical data into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
English proficiency.
Availability for international travel.
