The Procurement Buyer provides category and strategic support to one of the majors spend categories. This position is responsible to manage raw materials regionally. This position typically reports to a Procurement Manager or Sr. Procurement Manager.

**Responsibilities**:
Lead by example the regional and global safety and ethical initiatives.
- Manages day-to-day activities within designated supplier relationships for existing suppliers in their assigned categories.
- Manages service level and quality complaint resolution as required for existing supplier base.
- Identifies, communicates, and supports process improvements for materials or services in assigned areas and with key stakeholders as required.
- Uses Sourcing strategy processes and tools to effectively manage assigned sub-categories.
- Responsible for execution and proposing sourcing strategies and savings projects within assigned sub-categories.
- Acts as second line of defense in expediting orders to ensure adherence to contracted delivery terms and investigates and resolves problems as required.
- Identifies alternate suppliers and/or alternate materials/processes and drives approval process.
- Owns contract process for assigned category. Responsibility for ensuring contracts within the category is updated, accurate, and uploaded in the required contract system.
- Responsible for financial reporting of savings projects and headwinds. Manages the tight materials process to ensure security of supply.
- Support Symrise’s quality systems through engagement with suppliers to work toward successful corrective action resolution and continued quality.
- Leads savings projects, Sourcing strategy process or other initiatives that supports achieving team goals.
- Work proactively on Cost Trend defining drivers and follow market trends.

Requisitions

Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

- Bachelor ‘s degree in related field or relevant experience
- 3 - 5 Years of experience

After spending 1-2 years in this position an associate will have the following key experiences:

- Exposure to the Sourcing strategy process.
- Enabler of net structural savings.
- Suppler interaction to resolve day-to-day issues (e.g., quality/service level concerns).
- Beginning negotiation skills.
- Actively influencing to impact process and results.
- Analyze, identify, and drive savings.
