About the job**

Being the Production Engineer, you will lead the engineering and quality agenda with the overall goal to improve the customer satisfaction. You are the main contact towards the suppliers and work as part of the business team together with the supplier to develop and secure the production process, handling of quality deviations, and secure compliance to all IKEA requirements.
**About the assignment**

The Production Engineer is responsible for Product improvement and Quality Assurance including to secure process control for key processes in production. Among other things, you:

- Perform Product audits and production risk assessments at suppliers.
- Lead the Supplier Development for quality and manufacturing with responsibility to identify improvement opportunities, develop project and implement actions.
- Contribute with competence to improve industrialization of supplier production process
- Lead product improvement projects and contribute with competence in new product developments.
- Evaluate current and potential new supplier’s production facilities and quality systems.
- Work on efficiency projects to reduce cost of production and to reduce waste.
**Qualification**
About you**

You are eager to actively search for information and continuously learn from good examples and mistakes. You have a sense of urgency and a never compromise attitude towards quality. Additionally, you:

- Bachelor’s Degree (required) in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or other relevant field.
- Knowledge and experience on manufacturing line, preferably in mattresses, sofas, automotive or electronics.
- Experience in supplier development and project Management.
- Knowledge of production cost drivers from raw material to finish goods.
- Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Have an experience of working with production processes and with production floor development of products.
- Effective communication skills. Able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
- Proven record of developing product and quality improvement plans and consistently meeting/exceeding results.
- Preferable you have good knowledge of transferring requirements, standards, and test methods into practice.
- Have knowledge of six sigma and Lean production methods and tools.
- Travel required (30-50%).
- Good knowledge of product requirements, standards, and test methods
- Knowledge working with materials such as foam, springs, wood, têxtiles, mattress covers.
- Ability to communicate in English, both written and verbal, required. Spanish also required.
- Are open to teamwork in the multination environment
