This position supports Optical Products business unit. a.The Manufacturing Engineer establishes and directs manufacturing practices, processes, procedures, facilities, tools and equipment for production. b. This will include manufacturing of raw materials (such as custom glass, polymer and acrylic materials), machining, polymeric processing, glass finishing, thin film coatings, optical bonding, opto-mechanical assembly and optical metrology. c.New Product Introduction (NPI). Experiência y requisitos
Qualifications Skills, education, and experience requirements - BS degree in Material Science and Engineering with minimum of 3 to 4 years of relevant experience preferably in aerospace industry. - Familiar with Visio software, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks - Good sense of planning and project management skills - Experience with opto-mechanical assembly, liquid and dry optical bonding, various types of adhesives, cleanroom practices, environmental test equipment - Proven experience in low volume high mix aerospace and defense industry - Knowledge of optical thin film coating design, process, inspection and knowledge of spectro-radiometer and photometers - Knowledge of Military environmental specifications and aerospace lighting specifications is a plus - Understand the Minimum experience with CNC machining of glass, aluminum and polymers, plastic transformation processes - Demonstrated ability to perform PFEMA, DOE, SPC, Six Sigma continuous improvement tools - Experience in working in a cross-functional team environment, including training, coaching - Effective written/verbal communication skills; computing skills (Windows, Microsoft Office) - Understand the requirements of OSHA (Safety and Health) I
