IT Operations manages the IT infrastructure and supporting services that are critical for HSBC employees and customers, such as cost-efficient hardware, system software, middleware and databases, data centres, voice and data networks, ATMs, desktops and other devices.
The area comprises five functions: Client Services, Enterprise Services and Architecture, Data Centre and Service Management, Relationship Management, Project Management and Risk and Administration. Collectively, these areas define and deliver HSBC’s technology strategy to support the Group’s goals.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as a **Technical Specialist.**

**Principal Responsibilities**
- Influence and align the company’s vision and strategy, while engaging our teams to develop and deliver specific, hardware infrastructure and projects
- Applies foundational technical knowledge of an architecture solution to meet business requirements and resolve identified technical constraints
- Focus on independent execution, problem solving and demonstration of passion towards engineering excellence
- Work on global & regional Sustainable Service Program (SSP) and IBMi transformation projects
- Work on various complex projects, as a Technical Subject Matter Expert. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure technical deliverables are met
- Manage vendors across the project delivery and technical matters
Requirements

**Requirements**:

- Degree qualifications in Computer Science, Information Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience
- At least 6 years’ experience as a Hardware Infrastructure specialist in a large enterprise system of IBM Power System and Storage.
- Technical knowledge in IBM Power and Online / Offline Storage system and Cisco SAN Infrastructure.
- Experience with IBMi platforms (e.g. OS/400, Power Server, DS8K, Power HMC and Virtualization I/O system...etc.)
- Proficient in scripting and or coding skills in multiple common languages (e.g. IBMi Control Language, DSCLI. etc.)
- Provide Enterprise Services, including platform services (IBMi and IBM storage) for system processing resources and capacity management
- Sound knowledge data centre operations, systems infrastructure and architecture design
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies
- Requires a collaborative teammate who enjoy working in multi-functional groups and has the ability and willingness to work with others around the world
- Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and business users
- Sound analytical, problem solving skills and strong work ethics
- Proficient English written and verbal communication skills
