As an Associate Data Analyst and as part of the US Center of Excellence, we have vast amounts of use cases that require beginner to advanced analytics skills. This role will provide support to our Data Analytics workstream by writing advanced queries, building workflows to help with automation, build executive level reports, and provide actionable insights to each of our business units.

In this role, a typical day will include:

- Lead reporting team for Canada and Puerto Rico, by ensuring all month-end-closing activities are executed on time and according to Alcon’s accounting policies.
- Engage, motivate and develop associated, creation of team spaces for feedback and development.
- Ensure consolidation of Alcon Culture across the team
- Creation of Onboarding Plans, and co creation of Global Onboarding Plan across Share Services.
- Ensure timely recruiting process for transitions and On-Going Operations.
- Manage assigned staff in a consistent manner with policies and values.
- Delivered over 97% timely and quality publications
- Monitors Financial reporting for compliance with corporate standards, policies and procedures.
- Work with Leadership team and within corporate strategy to identify processes and systems requiring improvement.
- Implementation of Continuous Improvement culture within the General Accounting.Be a strategic partner for the business and HoF (have a continuous communication, be able to anticipate to problems)
- Support a better work-life balance
- Book to Report Process. To ensure that process are under control as Fixed Assets, Bank Reconciliation, Intercompany, IFRS 16, Accounts Reconciliation, also Month and Annual Reporting.
- Made decisions and address issues according to his/her/their role and scope based on MAL
- Comply Return to office company police, full R2R team must attend to office on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (except Holidays and closing days)
- Arrange balance sheet review meetings with different stakeholders, determine action plans out of those meetings, and follow up on any open item with the corresponding area.
- Responsible for fully analyzing balance sheet, PnL & cash flow statement in order to ensure accuracy. The incumbent should be able to identify risks and provide visibility to the business and FRA Head of any situation that may jeopardize the financial statements’ reasonableness.
- Responsible for ensuring financial statements’ submission on a timely manner based on corporate’s deadlines.
- Responsible for analyzing the entity’s balance sheet in order to avoid having aged items. The incumbent will leverage from other areas such as R2P & I2C to maintain the balance sheet fully reconciled and clean.
- Responsible for ensuring all transactions get recorded timely before month-end-closing.
- The incumbent will be responsible to approve/evaluate balance sheet accounts reconciliations for his/her team and for other areas also.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

- 10+ years of accounting experience - public and industry preferred
- Education: bachelor’s degree (Accounting and/or Finance required. Masters or Advanced degree in Accounting and/or Finance preferred)
- Experience as coordinator, team lead, supervisor/manager
- Advanced level of English
- ERP knowledge (SAP)
- Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
- Experience working with shared services preferred
