POSITION PURPOSE AND EXPECTATION:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Customs Compliance Specialist to join our team in Tijuana. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our company's import and export activities comply with all applicable customs regulations, trade agreements, and internal policies.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Monitor and ensure compliance with Mexican customs laws, USMCA/T-MEC regulations, and other applicable trade agreements
- Prepare and review import/export documentation, including commercial invoices, certificates of origin, and customs declarations
- Classify products according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and determine appropriate duty rates
- Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies to facilitate smooth cross-border operations
- Conduct internal audits of customs documentation and processes to identify and address compliance gaps
- Keep up-to-date with changes in customs regulations and trade policies
- Train and advise internal teams on customs compliance requirements
- Assist with customs inquiries, audits, or investigations
- Develop and maintain customs compliance procedures and documentation
- Monitor and analyze import/export data to identify trends and potential issues

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in customs compliance, preferably in the retail sector
- In-depth knowledge of Mexican customs laws and USMCA/T-MEC regulations
- Experience with customs classification, valuation, and origin determination
- Proficiency in both Spanish and English (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Experience with customs compliance software and ERP systems
- Knowledge of international trade terms and documentation

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Customs Broker license or relevant certification
- Experience with U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations
- Knowledge of retail supply chain operations
- Familiarity with specific product categories relevant to our business
