Energy Markets Consultant

Local Unit & Position Description:
The Market and Transactions team is looking for an
**Energy Markets Consultant**, to follow the activity growth. DNV, through the acquisition of Antuko, developed a deep know-how in energy commercialization, forecasting power prices and asset revenues in merchant strategy, PPA, derivatives, and the associated risks.

This position will be based out of our DNV office location in Mexico City, Mexico.

**What You’ll Do**
- Market Intelligence: big data, data mining, energy markets analysis, weekly reporting, tools maintenance
- Market Modelling
- Market analysis (quantitative and regulatory)
- Market price forecasts (Spot, Capacity, Clean Energy Certificates, Ancillary Services, CFE tariffs)
- Markets trends study (expansion plan, commodities)
- Scenario analysis (climate, electrical vehicle, distributed and self-consumption)
- Short-, medium
- and long-term forecast
- Revenue analysis, associated risks
- Other tailor-made analysis
- Leadership of Consultancy studies, from scratch to delivery
- Market analysis (quantitative and regulatory)
- Market price forecasts (Wholesale, Capacity, Clean Energy Certificates, Ancillary Services)
- Client management during the consultancy study, and after
- Development of DNV Market Intelligence, together with the rest of the team
- Expansion of the above activities to new markets: Colombia, Central America, Caribbean

Position Qualifications:
**What is Required**
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Electrical engineering with deep knowledge or experience in the Mexican energy sector
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in the industry
- Knowledge of electricity market modelling tools (preferably PLEXOS or similar)
- Experience in programming languages (Python or similar)
- Experience in Database knowledge
- Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English, French is a plus
