Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings - carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

**Role Purpose**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provides day-to-day problem-solving support to production, development and research operations
- Trouble shoots material, process and equipment issues, identifies root cause and implements corrective action
- Daily monitor of metrics, identifying special and common causes
- Create and update manufacturing procedures to maximize process efficiency
- Lead and be team member of manufacturing cost reduction and product/process improvement DMAIC projects (product design, materials, processes, tooling, quality control, production equipment capabilities). Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other stakeholders.
- Supports new product introductions through equipment installation, process certification, documentation, and training.
- Assures safety of operators and equipment and Complies with safety and environmental regulations
- Provide guideline to technicians
- Estimate production times, personnel requirements, and related costs to provide information to drive management decisions.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team, assisting them in resolving complex technical issues and ensuring high-quality outputs.

**Experiences/Education - Required**:

- Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering degree or equivalent combination of engineering degree
- 2-4 years engineering experience

**Experiences/Education - Desired**:

- Six Sigma Green Belt certification
- Knowledge of cable manufacturing process and equipment
- Manufacturing experience and ability to work in a manufacturing environment
- SAP knowledge
- Engineering software and tools, including CAD software, simulation tools, and project management software.
