Senior Automation Tester in Java

We are seeking a dedicated **Senior Automation Tester in Java** to join our dynamic team.

**Responsibilities**
- Collaborate with product teams to comprehend user stories and engineering teams for architecture understanding
- Train and mentor Software Quality Engineers in various testing concepts and tools
- Conduct hands-on testing, create test automation, and manage debugging activities
- Develop insightful understanding of business objectives tailored to client products
- Determine and implement the appropriate automation approach for different projects
- Liaise with project management to ensure clear understanding of features and requirements
- Design tests that align with functional, performance requirements, and user acceptance criteria
- Offer peer review feedback on tests or scripts from team members
- Verify all user stories and requirements are competently met
- Communicate defects effectively ensuring clarity and prompt resolution
- Proactively anticipate and communicate potential quality or delivery issues

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a similar technical field or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of experience in software testing including REST API and database testing
- Background in Java programming with a competency in using Java frameworks such as Spring and TestNG
- Proficiency in Selenium WebDriver, JUnit, Playwright, or Cypress for creating test automation
- Expertise in formulating advanced database queries and utilizing issue and test management tools like Jira or QMetry
- Qualifications in integrating tests into continuous integration and delivery pipelines (CI/CD)
- Skills in maintaining version control tools and excelling in testing/debugging across various environments
- Excellent communication skills and a knack for technical documentation including workflow, process diagrams, and API docs
- Upper-intermediate proficiency in English (B2+)

**Nice to have**
- Familiarity with performance testing tools like Apache JMeter or Gatling
- Understanding of cloud testing environments, especially Amazon Web Services
- Previous experience in a media company setting
- Knowledge of common industry monitoring tools such as Splunk, CloudWatch, or DataDog
