Main responsibility:
Coordinate and supervise the planning team in ensuring availability of materials, monitoring KPIs, improvement projects, problem solving. Train the team on issues related to the position and daily planning activities.
The coordinator is also responsible for carrying out the planning of the most complex suppliers.
Activities:
- Uses ERP to analyze demand and inventories to ensure material availability in support of production schedule and forecast.
- Place required purchase orders from approved requests.
- Expedited (both internally and externally) to guarantee the availability of the product according to the production plan.
- Establishes and maintains order parameters in the ERP to ensure its integrity.
- Keeps the information of the purchase orders updated to ensure the correct visibility of the materials in the purchase process (dates, quantities, etc).
- Manages relationships with assigned suppliers to optimize prices, processes, support quality improvement and ensure deliveries, and conducts regular assessments to qualify this performance. Organize key meetings with suppliers for follow-up and resolution of problems (problems with tooling, capacity, stopped shipments, etc.).
- For new parts related to engineering changes and quality claims to suppliers: Prepare proposals, request quotes, evaluate offers, negotiate prices, and negotiate terms (purchase order minimums, delivery times, etc.) with suppliers.
- Renewal of local contracts.
- Execute strategies and tactics to achieve the best total cost: Pricing, logistics routes, inventory (management of the product life cycle, revisions, E & O cost). Keep track of inventory both at Nilfisk and at supplier facilities.
- Proactively represents the logistics department in the different meetings and activities that are carried out with both local and global teams. Informs in a timely manner possible impacts and changes in both materials and commitments acquired in the different meetings and activities.
- Performs other tactical tasks as needed to optimize material flow, such as DMT administration, engineering change processing, etc.; leads troubleshooting sessions alongside support teams to prevent recurrences that impact material availability.
- Ensures that the planning processes are documented within the Environmental Quality Management System (SGCA).
Qualifications & Skills:
- BS in Business Administration, Engineering, similar.- 5 years of experience in team coordination of areas such as: planning, purchasing, warehouse, materials management.- 8 years of experience in material planning.- Strong SAP knowledge (PP & MM modules)- Strong understanding of procurement processes, industry, and suppliers.- Strong analytical skills.- Strong communication skills, including presentation and negotiation abilities.- Strong Project Management Skills.- Strong ability to develop suppliers.- Strong teamwork and basic leadership skills; influencing skills.- Proficiency in English.- Oriented to results through developing and implementing processes.- Must have: Advanced English to be able to negotiate, report and lead meetings with key suppliers.
