Financial Operations Controller

This role is part of the management team of the plant and will manage the day-to-day processes of the operations controlling, ensuring that relevant controls are in place and adhered to. Acting as a business partner for plant manager, supply chain manager and any other operations colleagues, supporting local teams with finance expertise during forecast and budget process, during monthly closing and on CAPEX request. As member of the Operations Controlling team Europe, you will work closely with other team members and will provide cover where and when necessary.

This role is based in Vlaardingen and reports Operation Finance Manager Europe, with a dotted line to Controller Royal Steensma

**Fundamentals of the position**:

- Draw up the Budget according to the structure lay down by the Business Group,
- Determine and keep the costing of products under control,
- Support the Operations and Supply Chain colleagues in achieving the objectives and plans established,
- Provide the plant management with analysis of costs evolution, with corrective actions and preventive action plans in collaboration with budget owners in order to keep the financials under control,
- Keep a close control on conversion costs, variances (Purchase Price Variance - PPV, Yield, Scrap, Inventory revaluation, Inventory difference, Other variance), Supply Chain costs and G&A costs impacting Operations P&L, and propose remedial actions when necessary,
- Support Operations and Supply Chain colleagues in Capex requests and investments follow-up in accordance with group standards,
- Make the monthly reporting according to the Business Group’s format,
- Transfer the Business Group’s administration policy and procedures to the local company and control their fulfilment,
- Guarantee conformity with legal, tax and internal requisites of the Group regarding the company’s economic and financial information
- Guarantee the truthfulness, reliability and compliance with delivery terms of the internal and external economic information,
- Manage the economic resources needed to achieve the company’s objectives, optimize financial flow,
- Control the company’s cash flow
- Be member of local operations leadership team and act as main representative for any financial topics,
- Contribute on the integration of Royal Steensma within Dawn Foods organization, help in the standardization of controlling procedures and implement required amendments locally,
- Act as local key user for controlling module in Exact

**To be succesful you will bring**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Controlling, or related field required. Master’s degree is preferred
- At least 5 years relevant experience in operations controlling
- Fluent in English and Dutch (verbal and written), another European language is a plus
- Excellent analysis skills
- Pro-active
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office (Excel, word, Power-point)
- Experience using EXACT and SAP is an advantage
- Excellent communications skills, oral and written
- Ability to travel, i.e. driving, flying, international and overnight travel as require
- Ability to direct and supervise

De Operation Finance Controller is verantwoordelijk voor het waarborgen van de connectie tussen de accounting / controlling van het bedrijf en de strategische ontwikkeling van de locatie in Vlaardingen in relatie tot de algemene groepsstrategie.
