We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled Product Technologist to join our team, specializing in the spreads category. This role is critical in bridging product development and manufacturing, ensuring that new and improved spread formulations are efficiently and consistently scaled up for commercial production.

The Product technologist role is part of the R&D team working in innovation, renovation and cost saving initiatives for spreads, responsible for R&D deliverables and ensuring best-in-class product design and execution leveraging all technical expertise of the R&D functions to deliver the projects, your responsibilities will have focus on Value Creation projects for the LATAM region.

This role reports into Process Development and Productivity lead for Emerging Markets and is part of the Global R&D Team based in our amazing Food Science Centre in Wageningen.

**As our Product Technologist, you will**:

- Lead the development, optimization, and implementation of manufacturing processes for spreadable products (e.g., margarine, plant-based spreads and nut butters).
- Translate lab and pilot-scale formulations into scalable, cost-effective, and robust production processes.
- Design and execute plant trials, analyze results, and recommend process improvements.
- Collaborate closely with Product Development, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams.
- Support commissioning of new equipment and technologies in production facilities.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including HACCP, SOPs, process flow diagrams, and control parameters.
- Troubleshoot product and process issues and provide technical support to production teams.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards during product and process implementation.

**So, what does it take to be successful in this role?**
- Strong background in Food Technology, Food Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or similar.
- **3+ years**of relevant experience on similar roles.
- Excel at technically leading development and have hands-on expertise in product and process development and implementation.
- Experience working across different cultures and regions globally, you thrive in ambiguity and fast-changing environments.
- A team player with a can-do mentality, you are also a self-starter who works independently, planning and executing factory trials, conducting analyses, product performance tests, and driving solutions and continuous improvements.
- Ability to analyze factory and pilot trial data, including process output parameters, is an asset, and experience in food processing and emulsification is a plus.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
