The Designer is responsible for thoughtfully and skillfully crafting books that engage an audience. The Designer works collaboratively with the rest of the creative team, where you would need to combine the final work of the concept/storyboard artist, writer texts, and the illustrator character design into a complete work of art. The Designer would envision, design, and produce book interiors and covers, including researching the design, set type, and layout, complete page revisions and text/color corrections. And finally prepare a production-ready, for print and digital, book files for an illustrated book and/or graphic novel.

I. Responsibilities
- Creating and delivering print-ready files for digital and print publications
- Creating Covers, mock-up, and compositing interior pages
- Design both illustrated and photo-based pages
- Manipulating Photoshop art files to conform to print specifications
- Work collaboratively with Creative and Story Teams to ensure the interior and cover complement each other.
- Ensure projects are completed in a timely manner with a quality product
- Advise best practices and optimizations throughout design project
- Develop new approaches for complex design problems in the project to create more-expressive graphics

II. Requirements
- Expert in design fundamentals
- Strong sense of design and typographic skills
- Experience manipulating illustrations and photos in Photoshop
- Experience creating and manipulating vector art in Illustrator
- Solid experience in related design and graphic software & media (adobe creative suite, etc.)
- Understands book production and printing standards
- Understands how layout & composition work impacts downstream processes, including eBook production and future print editions
- A good background in heavily illustrated books, as well as other photographic or illustration-driven books
- A portfolio showcasing numerous examples of current or/and recent best works
- Working on copyright protected materials/assignments, with work-for-hire clause apply. Full ownership of copyrights reverts to company on all works done. Legal agreement & contract must be signed for each project.

**Salary**: From $12,000.00 per month
