This role is part of Alcon's Finance, Accounting, & Audit function, a team that advances Alcon's financial strategy and ensures fiscal responsibility as we transform the eye care industry.

As an Accounting Coordinator supporting the Finance, Accounting & Audit team in Mexico City, MX (Hybrid), you will be trusted to help ensure the accuracy and integrity of Alcon’s financial records and the efficiency of core accounting processes. You will coordinate day‑to‑day ledger activities, partner with cross‑functional teams during month‑end close, and support audits and reporting.

In this role, a typical day will include:

- Calculating, preparing, and posting journal entries to the general ledger; validating source data and ensuring proper approvals.
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts (e.g., bank, intercompany, accruals), investigating variances, and driving timely resolution.
- Assisting with month‑end and quarter‑end close activities, including pre‑close checks, accruals, and preparation of supporting schedules.
- Contributing to financial statements and variance analyses by compiling data, performing reasonableness checks, and documenting findings.
- Supporting internal and external audits by organizing audit requests, maintaining audit‑ready documentation, and adhering to Alcon policies and applicable accounting standards (e.g., US GAAP/IFRS).

What You’ll Bring to Alcon
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years in accounting operations (GL, reconciliations, close) within a corporate, shared services (GBS), or audit environment.
- Technical: Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle or similar), strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups), and familiarity with internal controls and SOX concepts.
- Knowledge: Working understanding of US GAAP and/or IFRS; exposure to intercompany, fixed assets, or accruals is a plus.
- Behaviors: Detail‑oriented, organized, proactive problem solver; strong teamwork and communication skills in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. English: Intermediate-Advanced.
