Your role as a QA Automation Engineer is to build the automation framework required to run the automation scripts. Additionally, using different automation tools you will design, test and deploy automation scripts for repeated tests. Your goal is to automate as much of the testing effort as possible with a minimum set of code, maintain the automation framework and the scripts.

Besides writing automated tests, the QA Automation Engineer can still do exploratory testing when they need to understand how functionality manifests itself to the customer.

**Skills Required**:

- Technical Skills - Require programming skills to write computer code and scripts in common computer languages, such as Javascript, Python
- Create/Make framework enhancements to accommodate the scripting needs
- Communication skills - Strong verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with the development team of different products to have visibility in advance about which changes will impact the automation test suite and prepare/implement a plan to do the necessary adjustments

**Tools**:

- Automation testing tools: Selenium, Node.js
- API testing tools that require strong coding skills to create tests: REST Assured using Postman
- Continuous Integration tools - BitBucket, GitHub
- JIRA - Defect tracking and task creation tool

**Responsibilities**:

- Create the automation framework needed to run the automation scripts
- Set up the framework with continuous integration
- Design, write and execute automated tests by creating scripts that run testing functions automatically
- Maximize test coverage for the most critical features of the different products
- Determine the priority for test scenarios and create execution plans to implement these scenarios
- Write documentation for automated processes including test plans, test procedures and test cases
- Log and document bugs in the test case management tool
- Log the automation runs in the test case management tool and give traceability of which functional test cases were executed

**Qualifications**:

- 5 years automation experience is required
- Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodology is preferred
- Experience with remote work
