**Job Description**:
**SUMMARY**:The Material Planner prepares business related analyses and research for Supply Chain, Materials Management, and/or Logistics. The individual prepares forecasts, analyzes trends related to Planning, Distribution or Warehouse, Inventory or Material Control.

**Responsibilities**
- Analyze and plan material requirements by determining the quantity and date materials are needed to ensure optimal inventory levels.
- Prepare forecasts and analyze trends in manufacturing, sales, distribution, general business conditions and other related areas.
- Interface with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor, and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.
- Prepare shop work orders for materials and product processing and coordinate with schedulers to ensure that items are being processed according to specifications and time requirements.
- Make comparative cost analyses in order to determine the most effective and efficient options for inventory, distribution, and transportation.
- Negotiate prices and rates in accordance to company guidelines and standards.
- Develop and implement supply chain, material management, and logistics plans that may affect the production, distribution, and inventory of finished products in order to enhance product flow.
- Coordinate supply chain, material management, and logistics activities with internal/external customers.
- Implement lean concepts and continuous improvements regarding supply chain, material management, and logistics systems and processes.
- Prepare supply chain, material management, and logistics research and analysis for use in the development of business strategies and tactics.

**Qualifications**:
English Advanced, able to keep a fluid conversation.
High school degree or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
2 - 3 years SML or related experience.
Good analytical, mathematical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills and detail-oriented.
Ability to interface with cross-functional groups to define and execute overall requirements.
Familiarity in process documentation and improvement.
Ability to design, develop, and maintain tables, formulas, graphs, queries and macros
