**Job Summary**:
The benefits specialist is responsible for assisting with the audit, review, and administration of all benefits within our organization. A benefits analyst evaluates, recommends, and administers employee benefit programs and has sound knowledge of laws governing benefits compliance. They communicate the advantages of benefit packages to management and staff and have to stay abreast of employee benefits information.
**Duties/Responsibilities**:
- Work directly with Finance, Payroll, and Contracts on all accrual plan setups within the HRIS system and Salesforce system.
- Review class of service quarterly to ensure employees are correctly classified.
- Audit weekly payroll payouts for various contracts and confirm correct reporting and processing.
- Resolve administrative problems with contract managers and clients, if needed.
- Analyzes data and statistics with attention toward calculations to ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and contracts.
- Conduct weekly reporting and auditing of various contracts and programs and maintain accurate reports and reports of all benefit transactions.
- Prepares reports of data results, presenting and explaining findings to senior leadership.
- Administer and work on reporting, including, but not limited to the measurement period and mailings and filings with the vendor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
**Required Skills/Abilities**:
- Proficient knowledge of employee benefits.
- 2-3 years support and administration experience.
- Must have proficient English-speaking skills. Able to review all documents in English.
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel required, including Index Match, pivot tables, and ability to work with large data sets.
- Ability to work independently to manage multiple projects across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Must understand payroll functions and HR functions.
- Knowledge of working with Unions and Health and Welfare plans.
- Excellent verbal and written English skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Able to interact in a corporate environment and effectively communicate with all levels of management.
**Education and Experience**:
- Preferred degree or certificates in Accounting/Business or related field of study.
**Physical Requirements**:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
