**WHAT TO EXPECT**

As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward thinking, open-minded and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Located in our Santa Fe office, you will be responsible for proactively planning, developing, and implementing strategies and programs to grow Gates business with key accounts, one of Gates most important channel partners. Expand and foster trusting relationships by engaging at all levels in the Key organization accounts including the corporate office, distribution centers and field locations.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Develop trusting, collaborative relationships with all levels of the Key organization accounts including corporate headquarters, operations management, regional sales and key team members.
- Expand the relationship by continuously proposing solutions that help customers grow with GATES.
- Acquire a thorough understanding of customer's culture, business model, needs and requirements and turn those into actionable growth programs.
- Act as the ambassador for Key accounts within GATES ensuring the voice of the customer is heard. This includes collaboratively engaging and navigating GATES corporate headquarters functions, plant operations & DCs and field sales team to support Key accounts.
- Liaise between the Key account and GATES field sales team coordinating and supporting sales activities.
- Conduct presentations at specialized business forums.
- Respond quickly to product and service issues and take ownership for corrective action.
- Prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts, this includes using CRM to log and track opportunities as well as weekly and monthly sales reports.
- Work with Sales Director to manage strategic projects.
- Implement distribution strategies to accelerate growth of new and additional products and/or new markets
- Monitor competitive environment to identify opportunities and countermeasures to address competition
- Lead participation in private and government bids. Negotiate and prepare contracts.

**ABOUT YOU**
- 5 to 7 years of sales experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a technical degree
- Experience with Power Fluid and/or Power Transmission
- Experience in Industrial Replacement
- Experience with MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operating/Operations)
- Experience with government and private bids.
- Must be a self-starter who is motivated to plan and manage customer needs.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including formal presentation skills before both small and large groups.
- Demonstrated ability in problem solving with special emphasis on closing the sale.
- Effective territory management
- Effective use of pre-call planning techniques
- Ability to communicate openly, honestly, and constructively and treat all customers with dignity and respect
- Able to meet performance expectations working remotely with little supervision
- Must be proficient with the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to make decisions within established guidelines, policies, and budgets
- Travel required for this position is 50% - 70%
