Data Engineer

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Data Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Mexico. Our client is a U.S. Company that develops website and marketing systems used by the world’s leading real estate agents and brokers. They accelerated within the last six months, and the VC-backed company has doubled its team in size and tripled its client base. The company has grown to over 650 clients, including Jade Mills (#1 Coldwell Banker realtor worldwide), an investor in the company. The data team's primary focus is to provide accurate and consistent data to the platform and customers. They own the ingestion, transformation, and normalization of home listing data from Multiple Listing Services (MLS) and other sources. The team maintains the “source of truth” for the client to provide valuable and accurate listing data to the customers. They also support building out the data infrastructure for various BI/Data Science needs of the company & empower business leaders to make data-driven decisions.- Requirements:

- 5+ years of experience in programming, preferably Python or one of Java, Node.js, or Scala.
- Experience with databases such as MySQL/Postgres.
- Familiarity with modern CI/CD practices and Infrastructure as code.
- Experience working with AWS or any other cloud providers.
- Proven success working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
Responsibilities:

- Build a platform to maintain high-quality listing data & drive operational excellence for the project’s MLS data ingestion.
- Architect frameworks & supporting infrastructure to improve the platform observability and testing capabilities.
- Build and maintain services that make data available and accessible to the entire company and the clients.
- Partner with architecture and external development teams to design reusable frameworks and technical solutions.
- Participate in the evaluation of emerging technology and tools.
- Partake in code reviews, squad ceremonies, and team events (lunch & learn, brainstorms, etc.).
Will be a plus:

- Experience setting up comprehensive testing, logging, and monitoring frameworks from the ground up.
- Familiarity with AWS ElasticSearch & messaging platforms such as Kafka/Kinesis.
