The Accountant is responsible for a variety of accounting activities across the Accounting organization including the preparation of monthly accounting records as well as related reporting, analytical activities and initiatives.

General Responsibilities
- Prepare and enter journal entries
- Responsible for performing balance sheet reconciliations
- Follow the company’s chart of accounts
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options
- Identify errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures, liaising with management and cross-functional stakeholders
- Prepare financial statements and supplemental schedules
- Develop and document business processes ensuring compliance with accounting policies and internal controls
- Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
- Prepare special financial reports as needed by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends

Experience / Qualifications
- A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience
- Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
- Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
- Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
- Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
- Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
