Manufacturing Engineer

The manufacturing engineer supports all manufacturing operations for the Juarez facility and operations team to satisfy the demands of our customers. This includes overseeing and improving manufacturing processes by identifying areas for improvement, maintaining high levels of manufacturing and product quality, designing new processes, as well as ensuring cost efficiency and conforming with all regulatory and safety standards. This role will manage the design, fabrication, installation and training for production equipment and tooling.

- Oversees the daily workflow of the Tool Room / Maintenance department.
- Accountable for Engineering Performance.
- Review processes and challenge the current condition for worthwhile improvements.
- Understand the scope of the project and the influences beyond the written request.
- Discuss the request with other areas of the company.

**Engineering Project Management**

**Duties / Responsibilities**
- Evaluate manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement; assess cost effectiveness, suggest improvements and implement recommendations to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Develop detailed layouts for equipment, processes and workflow to optimize equipment efficiency
- Supervise tooling and Engineering Project operations, ensuring all work is performed accurately and according to quality and safety standards.
- Manufacturing setup and change over training and execution
- Tool room and tooling inventory and control
- Coordinates outside contractors and vendors as needed.
- Review, evaluate, and implement engineering changes and specifications requirements.
- Develop concept designs with options and alternatives.
- Maintain project milestone dates. Be able to understand, discuss and convey time and cost drivers and adjust resources when required.
- Product quality responsibility, to include quality investigation support and product testing support.
- New Product Development (NPD) process support
- Ensure compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and guidelines, including EPA and OSHA requirements.
- Collaborate with other manufacturing managers and leadership to set and assess priorities across teams.
- Assists the Plant Manager, Production Supervisor and/or other appropriate leadership as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned

**Manufacturability of Processes**
- Design machinery, tooling, and products to minimize operator dependency, minimize change over time, and maximize process capability.
- Design processes that allow the company to be competitive in the global market.
- Select machine and tool parts to minimize spare parts.

**Education and Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in engineering or equivalent experience.
- Project engineering involving assembly machines, presses and tooling for a minimum of 5 years.
- Thorough understanding of plant engineering, industrial engineering, and tooling.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare budgets and records.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Work well with others.
- Machine design concepts.
- Manufacturing techniques to fabricate tooling and equipment.
- Routers and bill of materials
- Bi-lingual skills (English, Spanish) is required
- Travel is mínimal, less than 10% of the time
