Tax Analyst, Mexico City

As Mexico Tax Analyst you will play a key role for assisting in ensuring, executing, controlling, and analyzing tax returns and compliance with the applicable law and requirements in Mexico. In this role you will be able to work closely with the tax, finance, business, and accounting teams to provide guidance on tax matters and support the organization's tax operations.

The impact you will make in this role
- Perform tax calculations and work with third-party provider to prepare tax returns and deliverables:

- Monthly: IT, VAT & withholdings, electronic accounting, etc.
- Annual IT Returns: as filed (Normal) and amended (Complementaria)
- Annual tax report (Dictamen fiscal)
- Informative: DIOT, DIEMSE, Local File, Master File, Annex 9 DIM, relevant transactions, etc.
- Review VAT calculations and coordinate VAT refunds, as well as responses related to SAT inquiries (Requerimientos & compulsas).
- Knowledge of electronic invoicing “CFDI 4.0”
- Provide consultation to tax personnel and businesses about direct and indirect tax issues and outputs for generally defined items of low to medium complexity requiring general understanding of principles, theories, concepts, and analysis.
- Participate in regular oversight of the process to continuously improve and ensure efficiency.
- Monitor legislation, conduct tax related research and analysis requiring a general understanding of tax practices and procedures.
- Handle routine and straightforward correspondence with tax authorities.
- Advise on direct tax/transfer pricing matters applicable to routine business transactions, participating in the contract approval process for domestic transactions.
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with mínimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate team members.
- Analyze compliance processes utilizing both tax and/or technical knowledge, to identify tax and work process issues in practice to minimize tax risks.
- Review and analyze tax provisions and accruals for financial statements.

Your Skills and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting o correlated areas.
- 3+ years of progressive experience in taxes.
- Strong knowledge of Mexican tax laws and regulations.
- Strong command of Microsoft, Excel, Access to cope with big databases.
- Fluency in English

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

- Experience with Alteryx, PowerBI and similar data analytics tools is a plus.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, including networking and teamwork.
