SAP Basis

This is a remote position.

This position is a member of the Information Services IS Operations team at Onibex and reports to the Technical Applications and Services Manager. Allied uses SAP to run its business, having implemented SAP ECC 6.0, encompassing the modules SD, MM, LE, FICO, Data Services, BW on HANA, BOBJ, SAP Portal, PI and PO/AEX.

The SAP Basis Administrator will collaborate with IS and Business Leads to define detailed customer requirements and system interfaces and develop solutions to satisfy the business requirements. Other responsibilities include working on various ongoing projects in the client environment to understand resource needs and plan for Basis resource utilization. This person also works with the various teams interfacing with Basis (SAP Security, Database, Operating System, Network, and Hardware) to evaluate the impact of how making changes in one area could impact the overall SAP landscape.

**Requirements**:
**Primary Responsibilities**
- Maintains multi-landscape environment which include SAP ERP, PO/AEX, Portal, Business objects, BW on Hana and SAP Solution Manager.
- Maintaining a sound production environment while at the same time participating in multiple projects with varying degrees of complexity.
- Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures, system error detection procedures, database reorganization and SAP background job scheduling.
- Experience with SAP, non-SAP interfaces using SAP PO/AEX (formerly PI or XI) single stack.
- Develop and maintain SAP PO/AEX adapters including JDBC, SOAP, RFC, IDoc, FTP.
- Manage the migration of transport, upgrades, and system restores which include Homogeneous System Copies Heterogeneous System Copies.
- Provide leadership in creating a roadmap for SAP maintenance and upgrades.
- Proactively monitors the performance of SAP systems components, platform integrations and corresponding infrastructure components. Recommending improvements and enhanced with performance tuning.
- Responsible for maintaining and implementing SAP audit controls.
- Respond rapidly to system performance and reliability incidents to return the system to normal performance as soon as possible.
- Recommend and implement tuning and configuration changes as needed to improve the performance and reliability of the overall system landscape.
- Liaise with outside service providers as needed to identify performance or reliability issues. Determine and implement proper remedial actions.
- Assist other team members via knowledge transfer to ensure proper coverage for responsibilities always.
- Provide prompt and consistent updates to management regarding the performance within the SAP system landscape
- Foster and maintain good relationships with customers and IS colleagues to meet expected customer service levels.
- Support the planning and execution of disaster recovery processes for the system landscape.
- Administer SAP security for role creation, role assignments, and maintenance.

**Required Skills and Experience**
- English Intermediate - Advanced.
- Has 8+ years of hands-on experience with SAP Basis Administration
- Strong experience in ECC, S/4HANA, HANA DB, MS SQL DB, BW, Solution Manager, BOBJ, Data Services, and Fiori
- Has working experience with BW on Hana running under a Linux environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of technology, techniques and methodologies in a tiered client server environment and web-based environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of SAP technical architecture with hands-on experience
- Experience mentoring and coordinating highly technical employees
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, ability to work on cross-functional project teams and foster team commitment to tasks
