Achieve extraordinary things when you join our team, and make a difference in your professional development, the community, and around the globe** **Primary purpose of the position**: Support the R&D Director during the different steps of the projects by performing the necessary lab tests, products assessments and technical drawings **Essential Responsible Areas**: - Design the new aerosols cans or bottles + drawing & slugs data base management for SLP plant in coordination with EU R&D technician. - Perform the necessary tests to validate the performances of the aerosols or bottles (pressure, resistance, dimensions, axial load resistance, coating integrity). - Write the reports to be shared with the customers based on the info they need to qualify the cans (mechanical data, porosity). - Analyse the problems occured during the line trials and propose solutions to solve the issues - Find locally external labs or suppliers to support the R&D team during a development if the skills do not exist within Ball (internet, visit fairs, contact Universities....) - Support the industrialization team during line trials if needed by bringing product expertize, customer expectations - Maintain the measurement and analyses devices in the SLP R&D lab in good working conditions (has to be autonomous on this part) - Perform the necking tests in the off line necker to assess the feasibility of a new concept. **Top 5 outcomes the role drives for Ball**: - Provide data to validate the stage gate and help to decide if we can go to the next stage in the innovation process funnel - Support customers qualification process - Product expertise to emphasize Ball's technical knowledge to support our customers - Management customer drawing & slugs database for SLP plant in coordination with EU. **Minimum Education & Experinces**: **EDUCATION** Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in mechanics or physics or materials **EXPERIENCE** Minimum of 2 years’ experience doing mechanical design with Solidworks Minimum of 2 years’ experience doing products innovation or products industrialization **SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED** Demonstrated skill in Managing tests in a lab or in line Demonstrated skill in Relatioships with suppliers or external labs Demonstrated skill in Projects management Working knowledge of 3D CAD drawing (Solidworks) Working knowledge of design mechanical parts Working knowledge of metal packaging ideally aluminium Working knowledge of can making process **LANGUAGES** Required Spanish & English Preferred Portuguese **Compensation & Benefits** **- Hiring Salary Range**: $ xxx,xxx - xxx,xxx (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.) - [This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.] - Ball includes a comprehensive benefits structure, Go to our career site and click "Total Rewards" to learn more.
