Senior Environmental and Sustainability Engineer

This role requires a dynamic and proactive professional, who is comfortable working and influencing teams worldwide to ensure a reliable data collection process to conduct, review and communicate the outputs of our environmental impact assessments. This will enable yourself to be a key contributor to Dematic’s sustainability transformation, and in turn significantly impacting an entire industry along with its customers across the globe.

In this role, you will support the development of environmental and sustainability processes, initiatives and publications, driving success for Dematic and its customers in their new pledges for sustainability. You will also function as a contributor to raise awareness of policies, trends, and best practices related to climate change mitigation & adaptation, energy, safety, transportation, materials management, and other sustainability topics across the lifecycle of our products and solutions.

- Support the development process of Life Cycle Assessments, Interpretation of results and Product Category Rules.
- Support the development process of environmental and sustainability methodology to baseline and quantify improvements.
- Perform stakeholder function for Sustainability idea reviews and development decisions.
- Function as an ambassador for the Sustainability Strategy within Dematic.
- Continuously drive strategy and ideas for environmental and sustainability improvements on customer solutions.
- Assist and support in efforts focused on the integration of sustainability requirements at a early stage of the Product development process, and activities within the R&D development process
- Support the development of the data collection process: acquisition of product series, company units, production sites, sales organizations.

Create life cycle assessments using external databases and software
- Give recommendations to product development to reduce the ecological footprint of our products.

Implement an LCA calculation program with product specific LCA data base.
- LCA data acquisition of product series, company units, production sites, sales organizations.
- Support the development process of environmental and sustainability measurement methods to baseline and calculate energy consumption in use phase at a product level, sound emission levels at a product level and carbon footprint of MHE.
