**Job Summary**

**Purpose**:

- Direct material buyer will be responsible of obtaining material cost reductions through VAVE or P2P opportunities.
- Work closely with cross functional teams to execute sourcing process considering category strategy, timeliness, and competitiveness.
- Support strategic team to leverage buying power and optimize number of suppliers.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree
- Fluent English

**Experience, Knowledge, and Skills**
- A minimum of 1 year in direct material purchasing.
- Experience in purchasing raw materials from the following categories: Electrical & Electronics, Harness Coverings, Resins, Plastics and/or Metals.
- Solid knowledge in benchmark activities, volume spend, resourcing, payment term improvements with designated suppliers and localization projects.
- Strong experience in high level supplier negotiations, competitive quoting, and contract management.
- Successful savings projects implementation.

**Key activities and responsibilities**:

- Identification and execution of savings opportunities through historical and projected material consumption.
- Analysis of direct material spend.
- Execution of quotations and negotiations according to category strategy.
- Process on time requirements from plants.
- Manage day to day activities and support cross functional teams.
- Maintain purchase orders and costs.
- Follow up invoice discrepancies.
