Business Analyst IT

The "System Analyst IT - PDM/PLM' will be working with Engineering teams, Manufacturing user community and other key business partners to understand their business challenges, solve problems, define as-is and to-be processes, and define business requirements and convert these to functional requirements of a PLM IT solution using Gates' Windchill suite of PLM products. This position works independently with guidance only in complex situations and may lead small functional teams or projects. Responsibilities include - planning, coordinating and facilitating workshops/requirements gathering sessions, developing and presenting strong business case presentations and proposals for improved process and system solutions, defining program plans and providing oversight of tasks and action items. You will provide inputs on test strategy for user acceptance, creating and executing test scripts and provide support for external projects where PLM input is required. **What You'll Do** - Conduct process gap identification and analysis for PLM and adjoining processes - Serve as an interface within PLM (IT), Engineering and Manufacturing for the purpose of business technology alignment, solution discovery, solution design and delivery. - Contribute to business requirements definition, develop functional requirements, design functional solution, document test scenarios for the solution, review testing scope and results, execute feature/solution and performance testing, work with end users to perform user acceptance testing and support solution deployment activities. - Monitor specific PLM IT systems or set of systems for availability and performance and report anomalies through predefined process. Participate in evaluation/recommendation of fixes, point releases, major upgrades, and new systems. - Contribute support services to Gates IT and PLM team and review / complete root cause analysis of incidents (often working with other teams), review / recommend preventative actions - Deliver project and support services within area of responsibility within allocated budget. - Understand the current PLM solution and play back to the business team, management and provide clarifications - Mentor and trains team members in product functionality, development and testing guidelines, tools, and methodologies **Minimum Qualifications** - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent. - 5 years of IT solution design experience in the areas of PLM (Windchill), CAD, Engineering and Manufacturing business process is required. - Good understanding of Windchill PLM system and associated process like BOM Management, Part Management, EBOM, MBOM, Configuration Management, Requirements management, etc - 2 years of experience in business administration of PDMlink. - Minimum 3 years' experience in requirements gathering and business process mapping in PLM/Engineering function of a discrete or process manufacturing industry. - Solid experience in converting business requirements to functional requirements and solution design is mandatory. Should be able to come up with high level designs and functional designs for the solution. - Experience in providing solutions using Windchill and associated CAD Integrations such as Creo, Solidworks, Catia etc. - Knowledge of Java, RDMS, Linux, and SQL queries. - Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and ability to communicate in both technical and non-technical language with all levels of staff and management **Preferred Qualifications** - Successful completion of PTC certification would be a plus - Experience working with geographically distributed teams of developers, architects, and other support resources. - Experience in "Process Manufacturing' industry and knowledge of related processes like recipe management is highly desirable. - Knowledge of SAP and/or Oracle ERP systems and experience with integration to Windchill. **Compensation**: $ **About You** - Strategic thinker, able to understand and help architect technology and business processes, and maintain a business and customer focus - High level of written and oral communication skills - Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical people - Consensus builder, able to move both technical and non-technical people to action - Passionate about continuous learning and certification in industry best practices - Ability to work and thrive in a highly collaborative, and dynamic environment - Experience in areas such as ITIL, Six Sigma and Lean, CMMI or COBIT. - #LI-MC1
