Dividends Analyst
Objective
Overall Summary of the Job:
The HSBC Custody Asset Services Department is responsible for the processing of dividends, coupons and mandatory/voluntary corporate actions related to equity and fixed income products through the lifecycle of the corporate event. This role is primarily responsible for Dividend related processing.
Activities
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
This role is responsible for dividends processing for US and Non-US equities
- Requires strong understanding dividend calculation and processing, products will include US and Non-US equity products
- Strong understanding of tax consequences for dividend events including NRA and knowledge of Depositary Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) EDS process as well relief at source processing,
- Knowledge of DTC processing, CA Web and SmartTrack, Postedge
- Strong understanding or market practice around claims and counterparty payments
- Ability to create wire payments in Swift message format types MT202, MT103, MT599
- Knowledge of SWIFT messaging is a plus, primarily MT564/565/566/567/568 messages
- Act as liaison with internal/external business partners
- Review cash/stock record reconciliations, ensuring timely and appropriate resolution on breaks
Requirements
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Computer literacy, intermediate knowledge of MS Excel a must. Working knowledge of MS Outlook and Word.
- Must be detailed oriented, good problem solver, should have good communication skills
- Must have strong overall knowledge of US Domestic Equity markets, with knowledge of foreign dividends - mainly Canada and Europe.
Minimum of 2 years experience in relevant role
