**Job Purpose**:
A CPS Black Belt is a project leader. Lead CPS projects using CPS tools and methodologies. Coach, teach and develop others to use the tools and methodologies of CPS. Tap into unused employee creativity. Eliminate waste in every process and drive the organization towards standard work.

**Job Related Statistics**:
Must be a recognized 6 Sigma Black Belt. Must have successfully completed the CPS Black Belt curriculum, including the prescribed assessments as developed by Caterpillar Production Systems Division and administer by Cat University. Deliver on People, Quality, Velocity and Cost (PQVC) metrics. Drive the organization towards ‘gold’ standard on the CPS Assessment.

**Job Duties**:
All Level One CPS Black Belts will train and lead CPS Value Stream Transformation (VST) teams and 6 Sigma Rapid Improvement Workshops (RIW). After successful completion of the CPS Black Belt curriculum, Level One CPS Black Belts should be capable of leading simple to moderately complex VST’s and RIW’s.

Measure results of their projects at the cell, Value Stream levels, utilizing the cell and Value Stream metrics and metric boards. Provide CPS Deployment Champion with the results and take corrective actions as required to improve on results below target.

Integrate Continuous Improvement ideas as part of the process and drive their teams towards standard work. Ensure projects are integrated with other business activities, improvement projects, and the business strategy.

This position has significant impact on the success of the Caterpillar Production System. CPS will help make Caterpillar a safer place to work, improve the company’s ability to meet customer expectations, improve quality, reduce cycle times, reduce cost and increase profits.

Must be a results oriented change agent who is proficient in the use of CPS tools and methodologies. Must be willing and able to effectively coach, teach and develop.

**Background/Experience:
- Must be or have been a Level One Caterpillar 6 Sigma Black Belt.
- Bachelors Degree, preferably in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
- 3 + years of professional level experience. Prior supervisory experience is a plus.
- Should have project management skills, team leadership skills, and good communication skills.
- Advanced English
