Our newly formed Insider Threat Program is seeking a Data Engineer to assist with visualizing business operations & performance indicators and support risk detection analytics process development, improvements, and metrics. The goal of our program is to mitigate threats and protect information assets, identify security risks, and participate in multi-discipline working groups to assess and mitigate risk. This team is responsible to proactively detect, identify, protect, and respond to insider threat risks. This team functions with high visibility working with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.

**The minimum requirements we seek**:

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information System Management, or a related field
- 1+ years in proven experience as a data engineer or similar role with a focus on data integration and ELT processes
- Experience working with APIs to extract and integrate data from diverse sources
- Proficiency in Alteryx for data blending, cleansing, and transformation
- Solid understanding of database concepts in SQL
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and troubleshoot issues.

**Our preferred requirements**:

- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Hive
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling
- Familiarity with data governance and security practices
- Proficiency in Apache NiFi building and managing data pipelines
- Experience with data visualization tools and python is a bonus
- Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP and their respective data services

**What you’ll be able to do**:

- Design, develop and deploy data pipelines using Apache NiFi to support data integration, extraction, loading, and transformation processes
- Utilize APIs to extract data from various sources such as databases, web services, and third-party platforms
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather requirements, understand data needs, and support design solutions that align with business objectives
- Implement data quality and validation processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data
- Develop and maintain documentation for data engineering processes, including pipeline configurations, data mappings and transformation rules
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data extraction, transformation, and loading
- Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends in data engineering, ELT, and data integration
