THE ROLE:
The Brakes Engineer is responsible for delivery of foundation brake systems and components. Responsibilities include the design and package of components, overall system performance, cost and quality.

The engineer leads component and system design and development, validating and signing off all key brake performance and attribute requirements.

YOUR IMPACT:

- The Brakes Engineer is responsible for delivery of foundation brake systems and components. Responsibilities include the design and package of components, overall system performance, cost and quality. Main components are Brake pedals, Brake Booster, Master Cylinder, Vacuum hoses, Brake tubes, Brake Jounce hoses, Caliper, Rotors and Wheel Speed Sensors.
- The engineer leads component and system design and development, validating and signing off all key brake performance and attribute requirements.
- Running vehicle tests, bench tests for specific functions.
- Working with brake development engineers for refining functional characteristics of the brake components, system, features and the vehicle.
- The engineer manages supplier delivery and performance.
- Serve as a leader and representative of brake engineering to interfacing organizations.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Related degree
- High English proficiency (reading, writing and speaking)
- Experiences in functional engineering desirable, preferably Chassis or Automotive related work experience (Ford, OEM, Supplier)
**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Strong leadership skills - Inherent self-starter, self-motivated with strong drive for results
- Project management skills - Capable of managing projects by looking both at the big picture objectives and at detail administration to achieve these objectives
- Strong oral/written communication skills to lead group projects, issue resolution and management reviews
- Able to work in unfamiliar and unstructured situations and succeed
- Computer
- literate
- Proficiency in MS-Office/Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint
- 3D CAD software tools exposure (Catia / Teamcenter)
- Recognized in prior work assignments for demonstrated performance
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related degree
