Job Summary
The Security Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the safety and security of personnel, facilities, and assets. This role involves coordinating security measures, managing security systems, and acting as the primary point of contact for all security-related matters. The Security Coordinator plays a critical role in developing and implementing security protocols, responding to incidents, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Security Operations:
- Develop, implement, and monitor security policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and oversee access control systems, surveillance equipment, and other security technologies.
- Conduct regular security audits and inspections to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
- Investigate security incidents and prepare detailed reports.- Incident Management:
- Respond to emergencies, alarms, and incidents promptly, ensuring appropriate actions are taken.
- Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
- Maintain detailed incident logs and prepare reports for management review.- Team Coordination:
- Supervise security personnel, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation.
- Ensure that all security team members are properly trained in emergency response and company policies.- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with local and federal security regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to address identified risks.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment on safety and security initiatives.- Communication:
- Act as the main point of contact for all security-related inquiries and concerns.
- Provide regular updates to management on security status, incidents, and improvements.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3 years of experience in security coordination, law enforcement, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of security systems, access control, and surveillance equipment.
- Familiarity with local and federal security regulations.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency in [specify software or systems, e.g., MS Office, security monitoring software].
- [Optional] Certification in security management, such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional) or PSP (Physical Security Professional), is a plus.
