**Overview**:
GEM operates 5 international gospel-saturated schools in 3 countries (Mexico, Uganda, and Colombia). **GEM is looking for gifted teachers who are passionate about sharing their faith inside and outside of the classroom.** Our gospel-saturated schools are unique in that we take each aspect of school, and we seek to infuse each aspect with the gospel.

The La Luz School is located in the beautiful mountain town of Juquila in Oaxaca, Mexico. Juquila is home to around 6,000 people, and is a safe city with a slower pace of life. It is a small indigenous town, and it is rich in local culture. The La Luz School offers a unique, pre-K through 8th grade private, gospel-saturated education. Students come from middle and lower class families, and for many, this is their only option to receive a private, Christian education. The La Luz school uses Mexican-based standards designed to meet the needs of the students and their families and prepare them for continued education in the Mexican school system.

As an **English Language Missionary Teacher,** you are able to leverage your life in a really impactful and meaningful way. You will have the opportunity to serve the Lord while pouring out your life in the classroom for the purpose of planting seeds of the gospel in the hearts of your students, while committing to excellence in the classroom as you teach the English language to our students at The La Luz School each day

**Job Objective**:
Create and maintain a positive learning environment within the classroom, supporting each student academically, spiritually, emotionally, and socially. Most importantly, each teacher is also a missionary, using their skills as a teacher to plant seeds of the gospel of Jesus Christ each day.

School Directors and GEM Directors

**Starting Salary**:
This is a missions position that requires fundraising (similar to support raising). The starting fundraising goal is $19,500 per year, and the **starting gross salary is $14,000 (USD)**. Our team will provide fundraising training before fundraising begins. Please note that fundraising takes place before beginning moving to Mexico.

**General Responsibilities**:

- Commit to daily following Christ
- Actively weave the gospel in instruction
- Saturate all interactions with students and their families in the truth of the gospel
- Plan, prepare, and teach your English classes using best practices
- Assist the school administration in accomplishing the academic and spiritual goals of the school
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and the community
- As a missionary, there will be expectations to assist in recruiting, fundraising, creating policy, and being an ambassador for GEM

**Qualifications**:

- A true, genuine faith in Jesus Christ
- Eligibility to work in the US
- Fluency in English language
- Fluency in Spanish language
- Degree in something related (ex. TESL, ESL, etc.)
- An outgoing and adventurous personality, ready to pursue others for the sake of the gospel
- A humble heart, ready to serve others
- Flexibility of schedule
- Willingness to relocate to Mexico for the duration of the contract (Starting in July of 2025)
- Willingness to fundraise for the ministry
