Siemens Electrification and Automation is seeking an experienced professional in Automation for Power Systems, in the field of substation automation and protection relay engineering to join our growing team of Power Systems Engineers in the Queretaro, Mexico. You will be working alongside a growing team of engineers to support projects and customers in the Queretaro factory, as well as support on the design and configuration stages of US Based projects for automation and protection.

We are looking for a Power System Automation Engineer. This position will be based at Queretaro, Mexico.

Role Description
- Configure and test RTUs/PLCs for protection and controls schemes of Medium and High Voltage substations systems.
- Design and/or support elaboration of Control Logic Diagrams, System Network Architecture, Signal Lists, Functional Design Specifications documents during design phase of the project.
- Prepare (FAT) Factory Acceptance Test procedures & testing environments for customer projects.
- Be one of our primary customer interfaces, including trouble shooting and commissioning support.
- Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, including design, implementation, and commissioning phases.

Job Requirements

Minimum qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience in power systems protection and automation engineering field.
- Ability to read and fully understand DC and AC schematics, three
- and one-line diagrams for Medium and/or High Voltage substations systems.
- Knowledge of Siemens automation and protection products and their associated engineering software.
- Experience with IEC61850 Standards and protocols within Siemens Protection and automation products.
- Factory and Site testing experience in automation and control systems

Preferred Qualifications:

- Knowledgeable on communication protocols such as IEC61850, DNP, Profibus, OPC, Modbus, IEC101, IEC104.
- Experience using communication troubleshooting and simulation tools such as IED Scout, Wireshark, and IEC Browser.
- Experience with configuration and testing of Siemens power automation portfolio: SICAM PAS, SICAM SCC/WinCC, SICAM Device Manager, SICAM Toolbox, Simatic Manager
- Programming experience in structured text laguages, function blocks and ladder.
- Work experience with Medium voltage and low voltage switchgear and equipment.
